Summertime in Viena
Summertime in Vienna is varied and entertainment is guaranteed, and, above all, fun. Pleasurable evenings in the open air with splendid culinary offers await you; for example, in the Danube Canal where one can enjoy a beach atmosphere at the Strandbar Hermann, in the boat with swimming pool, at the Urania Café Bar, and at the Adria Wien. Entertainment is also provided by the open-air Summer Stage, the Sand in the City complex and the university campus including the old AKH hospital. During the annual musical movie festival, once again the Viennese Town Hall Square will be the throbbing meeting place for classical music fans and night owls – with delicacies for the palate and guaranteed free film shows.

Eating and Drinking
The best of everything – that is what the Viennese have always wanted. Consequently, they have taken the tastiest dishes from Bohemia, Austria, Hungary, the Balkans and southern Europe and refined them in the “capital of enjoyment”, making them form part of the unmistakable Viennese Cuisine.

Vienna is also a wine region. Around 700 hectares of vineyards exist inside the city area. Quite unique! Above all the “Grüner Veltliner” enjoys great prestige world-wide. The Viennese prefer savouring their wine in the “Heuriger”, which is the name given to the wine from the last harvest and to the taverns where it is served. Here is where you will find the true Viennese atmosphere – with its traditional ingredients: a shady garden, a merry group of friends, a glass of good wine, a little music.
