The Calçotada, Gastronomic Festival
The Calçotada is the most important gastronomic festival in the whole of Catalunya. More than just a meal, it's a great excuse for organising a get-together of family and friends around the braziers barbecuing the Calçots and the grills roasting lamb and Valls llonganissa (sausage). Not can we possibly fall to mention the Calçot sauce, in which the Calçots are dipped before being lowered into the mouth in the traditional fashion, without forgetting the customary pitet (bib) to catch any drips!.
