General Information of Riviera Ligure

Located almost in the middle of the Italian Riviera is the charming city of Genoa, with its imposing harbour. To the east, known as Riviera di Levante, many localities nestle in the valleys, characteristically famous for the extraordinary beauty of their landscapes, unique and fascinating tourist goals. Some of the most outstanding are Portofino, Porto Venere or La Spezia.

The Italian Riviera also comprises nature reserves such as the Cinque Terre or the Riserva Marina de Portofino.  The islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto have been declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO on account of their great beauty and historical importance.

The western part, or Riviera di Ponente, is characterized by the town of Ventimiglia, the most representative of this area.

Along the whole of the coastline one can find a series of beautiful villages with a strong tourist tradition, such as Savona or San Remo.
