Cudillero is one of the most picturesque fishing villages of the whole Costa Verde. Its winding streets and houses climbing up the hill still smack of traditional architecture.

The best way of discovering the magic of this village is to wander round at random, taking in the picturesque fisherman’s cottages and stopping for breathtaking views at lookout points such as La Garita, La Atalaya, El Canto or El Pico.

Worth a special visit are the Cofradía de pescadores(Fishermans’ Guildhouse) and the Capilla del Humilladero, one of the town’s oldest buildings. Plaza de la Marina, opposite the port, offers many sites for tasting the seafood together with a good cider, while watching the fishing boats coming back from the sea.

A stroll along the Playa de La Concha de Artedo is a particular delight, to take in the lovely scenery or take a dip in the sea. Leaving the town by the main street towards the national road we come to El Pito, where we can visit the nineteenth-century Conjunto Palaciego de los Selgas, a palace complex dubbed the “Asturian Versailles”.
