Huertas
(Metro Sevilla-Antón Martín). The Plaza Santa Ana is its hub, while
Calle Huertas and Calle Echegaray are its main thoroughfares. Nearby,
between Sol and Ópera, there are several locales that should not be
missed.
Chueca
(Metro Chueca). This is the main area of gay bars but frequented by
people form all walks of life. Small restaurants, disco bars, designer
and avant-garde locales in a place where time seems to have stood still.
Malasaña
(Metro Tribunal). This is the main area of street drinking for young
people, around the Plaza del Dos de Mayo. A district that reeks of
fast-living fun, with more affordable prices than other areas. Many
youngsters, weekend beats, groupies, poppies and music freaks.
Alonso
Martínez (Metro Alonso Martínez). Several interesting beer houses and
disco bars. The axis is the Plaza de Santa Bárbara. University
ambience. Also live music with an eighties feel together with some
blues and country.
Serrano-Velázquez (Metro Serrano-Retiro-Gregorio Marañón-Príncipe de Vergara). Some of the citys most in bars.
Moncloa
(Metro Moncloa-Argüelles). The popular areas of lower Moncloa and
Argüelles: teeny boppers, university students, young people in general.
