Sustainability is an integral part of Spiess & Spiess’s identity, finding its clearest expression in the hotel’s inner garden. In 2021, this space was transformed into a natural garden featuring native plant species that support urban biodiversity and provide food for bees, butterflies and other pollinators throughout the year.

This philosophy extends across the entire guest experience, through initiatives focused on responsible resource management, waste reduction, and the use of certified, environmentally friendly products. A commitment that has earned the hotel sustainability certification and recognition as a Green Hotel by the Austrian authorities.

The breakfast follows the same principles, with a selection prepared exclusively from organic ingredients and, whenever possible, sourced from regional producers. A thoughtful offering that highlights both the quality of the ingredients and a commitment to the local environment.

Sauna & Wellness

Spiess & Spiess’s wellness area provides a space dedicated to relaxation after a day spent exploring Vienna. Inspired by the colours, materials and atmosphere of the Danube’s riverside landscapes, it offers a serene setting removed from the pace of the city.

The sauna can be enjoyed either in its traditional form or as a bio-sauna (sanarium), a gentler alternative that combines moderate temperatures with higher humidity levels. The wellness area also features a cosy relaxation lounge, where guests can extend the experience between sauna sessions while enjoying a selection of organic teas.
