The Editory Artist Baixa is a 17-room boutique hotel with a distinctive hotel-school concept, created in collaboration with the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Porto. This initiative gives guests the opportunity to discover the hospitality industry from within and see the students at work as they actively participate in the day-to-day running of the hotel.

The hotel occupies a historic building that was once a hat factory in the 19th century and later became home to the Soares dos Reis Artistic School, an institution that played a key role in the development of the arts in Porto. Its creative past remains present throughout the interiors, where contemporary design and artistic references shape the hotel's character.

Gastronomy is also an integral part of the project, with students putting their training into practice in the hotel's restaurant and bar under the supervision of professionals. An opportunity to discover the talent of the next generation of hospitality professionals at close quarters.

A Escola By The Artist

A Escola by The Artist is the restaurant at The Editory Artist, where chef Hugo Dias and students from the city’s School of Hospitality and Tourism create surprise menus that showcase creative cuisine, imagination, and technique. The concept unfolds in a setting inspired by a contemporary art gallery, where the presentation of each dish becomes part of the experience.

Its tasting menus, available as five- and seven-course options during dinner service, invite guests to discover a cuisine that changes with every service and leaves room for surprise. The students take an active role throughout the process, from preparing the dishes to serving guests, as part of their training in a professional environment.

The experience is accompanied by a selection of Portuguese and international wines, chosen to pair with the creations of the chef and his team.

B’Artist

B’Artist is the bar at The Editory Artist, a creative and relaxed space in the centre of Porto. Its art-inspired décor and peaceful terrace make it a place to take a break and enjoy a more laid-back moment away from the pace of the city.

Its menu features a selection of drinks, appetisers, and light dishes to share, suited both to a casual stop and to gatherings at the end of the day.

B’Artist also hosts private meetings and celebrations, with a personalised service that adapts the space to the needs of each occasion.
