The hotel occupies the former Balleteatro building, a school founded in 1983 that played a significant role in the development of contemporary performing arts in Portugal and was the birthplace of Porto’s first contemporary dance company. Today, its 56 rooms and communal areas feature relaxed, informal décor and a welcoming atmosphere that evokes the feeling of being at home.

The House Bar

The House Bar is a welcoming, relaxed space at The Editory House, designed for enjoying a break at any time of day. Its menu features snacks, sandwiches, sharing plates, and homemade desserts, accompanied by a selection of Portuguese wines, beers, coffee, and refreshing drinks.

The bar is also where a home-style breakfast is served each morning, with fresh bread, pastries, fruit, and hot options. The experience is complemented by Margens do Douro, two 12-metre-wide paintings by artist Pedro Vaz depicting the banks of the Douro River and bringing the region’s landscape into the hotel.
